2. The claim calculator provides illustrative estimates

The Settlement Experts Claim Analyzer uses the information a visitor enters to generate an illustrative result. The output is a planning aid—not a legal ruling, valuation opinion, settlement offer, or promise of recovery.

There is no universal settlement formula.
Actual claim value can depend on liability, medical evidence, prognosis, economic losses, insurance coverage, applicable law, jurisdiction, causation, credibility, available damages, and many other case-specific considerations.

3. Accuracy, completeness, and changing circumstances

Settlement Experts attempts to present useful information, but we do not represent or warrant that every calculation, article, example, data point, or other website content is complete, current, or applicable to every situation.

Laws, regulations, insurance practices, medical circumstances, and claim requirements can change. A result generated today may not be appropriate for a different jurisdiction, a later date, or a materially different set of facts.

Visitors are responsible for deciding whether additional professional advice, documentation, or independent verification is necessary before taking action.

4. No attorney-client relationship

Using Settlement Experts, reading an article, running the calculator, or submitting information through a website form does not, by itself, create an attorney-client relationship between you and Settlement Experts or between you and any lawyer or legal professional who may receive an inquiry.

We are not representing you unless a lawyer independently agrees to represent you and the required engagement has been established under applicable law.

The American Bar Association emphasizes that websites offering general legal information should make clear that the information is not a substitute for individualized legal advice and that using an online service does not necessarily establish an attorney-client relationship. citeturn214217search0turn214217search1

5. No assumption of legal privilege or confidentiality

Unless a separate professional relationship expressly provides otherwise, information you submit through an online form should not be assumed to be protected by attorney-client privilege or work-product protection.

Do not use a public website form to send sensitive information that you are not comfortable submitting through that channel. For information about how Settlement Experts handles information submitted through the site, review our Privacy Policy.

The ABA notes that users should not be led to believe that information submitted through an online legal-information service automatically receives attorney-client confidentiality or privilege. citeturn214217search0turn214217search6

6. Third-party professionals and services

Settlement Experts may provide opportunities to request contact from legal professionals or other third parties. Any decision to communicate with, hire, or rely on a third party is made by the visitor and that third party.

Settlement Experts does not guarantee that a particular lawyer or professional will accept a matter, provide a particular legal strategy, achieve a particular outcome, or be available in every jurisdiction.

7. Laws and claim outcomes vary by jurisdiction

Personal injury claims are highly dependent on state and local law. Rules involving liability, comparative fault, damages, filing deadlines, insurance coverage, medical documentation, evidence, and recoverable losses can differ substantially.

For that reason, an article or calculator result should never be treated as a statement that a particular legal rule applies to your claim without confirming the law that governs your situation.

8. No guarantee of a settlement or recovery

Past examples, hypothetical calculations, ranges, scores, or educational scenarios do not guarantee any particular settlement, verdict, recovery, or insurance payment.

Settlement negotiations are influenced by facts and circumstances that may not be visible to an online tool, including disputed liability, causation issues, policy limits, medical prognosis, credibility, liens, applicable deadlines, and litigation risk.

9. Medical information is not medical advice

References to injuries, treatment, symptoms, diagnoses, recovery periods, or medical records are included to explain claim-related concepts. They are not a diagnosis or medical recommendation.

For medical concerns following an accident, seek care from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional. In an emergency, contact emergency services.

10. Your responsibility when using the website

  • Review information carefully and consider whether it applies to your circumstances.
  • Verify important legal, insurance, financial, and medical information independently.
  • Do not rely on an automated estimate as the sole basis for accepting or rejecting a settlement.
  • Do not submit sensitive information through forms unless you understand the applicable privacy terms.
  • Seek individualized professional advice when the consequences of a decision are significant.

11. Updates to this disclaimer

We may revise this disclaimer as the website, tools, services, or legal requirements evolve. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates the version currently published on this page.

Continuing to use the website after an updated disclaimer is published means you are viewing and using the site subject to the revised notice.

12. Questions and support

Important: This disclaimer is a website disclosure, not a substitute for a lawyer's review of your specific circumstances. The American Bar Association has noted that disclaimers can reduce misunderstanding about legal-information websites, but disclaimers are not a cure-all for services that actually provide individualized legal advice. citeturn214217search0turn214217search2
